"Empowered girls with power tools, one robot at a time"
As a team based at Duchesne Academy, we are comprised of 35 members, all female. We are one of three all girls’ teams in Texas, and we are the only all girls’ team in the city of Houston. Founded in 2009, we’ve grown from 6 members to about 10% of our upper school.
Our mission is to inspire women across all platforms to develop an interest in STEM through the power of education from a young age. We seek to reverse the negative stereotypes associated with women in STEM, so that women are no longer underrepresented in these ever growing fields. We hope to continue our successes as one of the few all girls’ teams in FRC, empowering girls with power tools, one robot at a time.
